In our efforts to advocate for the provision of safe and good quality water, as well as healthcare for fluorosis-affected individuals, we have conducted public health community education sessions and engaged stakeholders in various capacities.

The team conducted a Community Education session on safe &good quality water as well as equipping primary caregivers with household fluoride filters. The session was held at Mirera Polytechnic, Hells’gate Ward, Naivasha, on Friday 30th August, 2024.

The non-profit steward has engaged the members of the Rotaract Club of Naivasha on possible solutions towards prevention and managing life with fluorosis (February 2024). The club’s Projects committee committed to empowering a local Primary School with a water treatment system.

Based on EmpꓥVolve’s climate resilience stewardship partnership agenda, we have joined Team Climate Change Naivasha Organization and the Rotaract Club of Naivasha in communal tree planting sessions (October 2023), (November 2023), and (June 2024).

Participated in the Nakuru County Climate Resilient Water Management (CREWM) wider stakeholders’ meeting on the situation of groundwater resources in Nakuru County, opportunities, challenges, and mitigation measures (March 2022).

The nonprofit steward has been a presenter in stakeholders’ training workshops on Fluoride Removal from Fresh Water at Community and Household Level - Innovative Filter Technology for Clean and Affordable Drinking Water, organized and facilitated by the African Water and Sanitation Association (AFWASA) in partnership with the German Water Partnership (GAPWAS), German Cooperation, SEQUA, and Partners in Transformation Business and Development Network. (March 2022, April 2024) in Nakuru, Kenya.

September 1,2021 to August 31, 2022, the non-profit steward was part of Samya Rose Stumo Fellowship, where the group of public health experts were pioneering inclusive and informed health policy for all. The fellows were speaking up to raise awareness around issues that affect not only their countries, but nations all over the world.

Event

On 19th and 20th Nov 2024, EmpꓥVolve and Rural Water Management Solutions, with the support of the TZ Team, successfully established Community Engagement Platforms! These platforms are designed to be transformative spaces, that will leverage indigenous knowledge, amplify local voices, and cultivating a strong culture of water safety. Our dedicated teams engaged with communities in Kiwanja Ndege and Rubiri, Hellsgate Ward, Naivasha, to set the groundwork for healthier and safer drinking water. Our mission is clear: to empower communities with tools and knowledge that enable sustainable water safety practices. By involving local leaders and stakeholders, we established Citizen Platforms that will lead the charge in advocating for clean and accessible water for all. A huge thank you to all participants, including local administrative officials and community representatives. Together, we're making strides towards a healthier future!
